I'm a gay man living in San Francisco since 1977. Read on if you want to know how I got to San Francisco and what has happened since I arrived. The Early YearsI guess I've always been gay. (More on that later.) My earliest fantasies living at home on a farm in the middle of Illinois were fueled by the underwear ads in the Sears and JCPenneys catalogs that always arrived at our house. I would prop the catalogs up on the small cabinet directly in front of the toilet, open to my favorite pages, which were almost always the white fly briefs, and jack off looking at them. I guess that's where the interest expressed on this web site for "tighty whities" originated, eh? But at the time, I never thought of this as gay, and I always expected I would marry and have a family someday. Before leaving this aspect of my life, I should mention that when it came time for a catalog to expire, I would carefully cut out my favorite pictures and stuff them in a hiding place I had. Then I would immediately burn the catalogs in the incinerator out back, lest anyone notice the pictures missing. My hiding place for the clippings was an old metal chest Erector set I had received for Christmas some years earlier, and I always stored the Erector set in a very out of the reach place above the closet in the bedroom my brother and I shared. In retrospect, my choice of locations for my underwear models was somewhat ironic, don't you think? (For the irony-impaired, "Erect"or set, get it? If you don't know what an Erector set is, I refer you to this article on the A. C. Gilbert Company, which also produced one of my other favorite toys as a kid, American Flyer model trains.) Sadly, I destroyed all those pictures when I left for college. I wish I had them now, as there seems to be a niche "market" for underwear ad photos on the Internet. Undergraduate "Studies"
